  • Maryon Foroozanfar is an artist with an established background and with an expertise in portrait painting. In particular, she studied in New York where she obtained her BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She now works in London where she has been shortlisted for many prestigious prizes and exhibitions such as The Columbia Threadneedle Prize (2016) and the legendary BP Portrait Award. Moreover, she has regularly exhibited her work at the National Portrait Gallery since 2004.   • Rodney Bastable was born in 1953 and spent his formative years in a rural environment, which provided the base for his artistic interests. He attended Great Yarmouth College of Art and Design for his Foundation Studies and the Winchester School of Art where he completed a Dip.AD course. Back at home, he proceeded to study landscape and portraiture. The works of Michelangelo and Turner were an inspiration, along with the writings of Vasari and Ruskin. Working in a range of media, the following six years resulted in many solo shows and a wide range of commissions in both portraiture and landscape.   • Caroline List is a practicing artist based in London, who has exhibited her works in the UK and internationally. Her works have been collected by a number of private and public collectors. Caroline has worked as a visiting tutor at several eminent art schools such as the Royal Academy of Arts, Chelsea School of Art and Design and Bath Spa University.   • Since graduating from Art College in 1992 (with a degree in Illustration) Jon has consistently practised and developed his work in both drawing, painting and printmaking. He recently took regular classes (over a three year period) on the public programme at the Royal Drawing School and remains committed to observational study even though his work is at times, non objective.   • Classically trained professional artist Lucy Crabtree’s work performs within a large variety of media. Having undertaken a foundation year at Wimbledon College of Art, she continues her studies in Technical Arts for film and theatre. She went on to further her knowledge in Florence studying at the Russian Academy of Art, where she gained a real insight into aesthetics and took inspiration from the great masters.   • Born in Hong Kong, Desmond studied Chinese calligraphy and painting from a young age under the late Lingnan master Chiu Sai-Kwong. The Lingnan style of art developed in Guangdong during the early 1900s, a time of revolution in China. As such, works from this period often had Western and Japanese influences.   • Francis Martin’s drawings explore the light emulating properties of charcoal and Contè on paper. He works from observation and on location, responding to the emotive influence of atmosphere over his environment. The Sunny Art Award

The Sunny Art Prize is an international art prize hosted by Sunny Art Centre, London. This fine art competition is a global platform giving an opportunity to any emerging and established artist to showcase their talents. Their works will represent a diversity of art and culture, from two-dimensional works such as paintings, drawings and photography to three-dimensional sculptures, ceramics and jewellery.  The Sunny Art Award represents the international art scenes of London, Beijing, Guangzhou and Macau. It will promote an exchange between the creativity of Eastern and Western cultures.

A total cash fund of £6,000 is awarded to the art prize winners.
The group exhibitions will be held at the Sunny Art Centre in London, as well as our partners’ galleries. This includes the Haidian District Art Centre in Beijing, Chen Centre for Contemporary Art in Beijing, the AIP Art Centre in Guangzhou or the Blanc Art Gallery in Macau. The one month artist residency programme will be organised in collaboration with our partnering galleries.

First Prize – The winner will receive £3,000, a public solo exhibition at Sunny Art Centre in London, a one month residency along with a show at our partners galleries.
Second Prize  – The winner will receive £2,000, a group exhibition, a one month residency and a show at our partners galleries.
Third Prize – The winner will receive £1,000, a group exhibition, a one month residency and a show at our partners galleries.
30 Shortlisted Artists works will be exhibited during the summer at Sunny Art Centre, London. Out of these 30 shortlisted artists there will be an opportunity for 10 of these artists to exhibit their works at our partners galleries.
