Our beginner’s art classes are held in our central London art studio. In these classes, students are taught the fundamental techniques of drawing and painting, such as line, shading, colour mixing, composition and scale. They will achieve an understanding of form by first learning to draw various geometric shapes and objects.  They will then proceed to painting, and will be taught colour mixing techniques, colour values, and painting application techniques. The media which students will be introduced to in our beginners courses are: graphite, charcoal, chalk pastel, oil pastel, oil paint, watercolour, and acrylic paint.

Class themes include life drawing, portraits, still life, landscapes, Old Masters, cast drawing and plein air painting.

Choice of medium  for Painting Course includes oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolours, the Drawing Course includes charcoal, pencil and pastels.

These classes are aimed towards those with an interest in creating art but have never taken art classes, or for those who have taken art classes in the past and wish to revisit their passion. These classes are also suitable for young people who are thinking of applying to art schools. If you wish to relax and have a bit of fun and learn about art, or are looking to find a creative way to invigorate your life after work, this is the class for you.

What You Will Achieve Upon Completion of the Course
The step-by-step nature of our beginners art classes will allow students to easily acquire and improve basic
drawing and painting techniques. By the end of the course, students will have a solid comprehension of
structure, mediums, and approaches in the 2-dimensional form, and the motivation to develop their new skills.
