Sunny Art Centre is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Painting & Drawing Teacher to join our creative teaching team for evening and weekend classes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated artist-educator to become part of a vibrant, professional art institution in central London.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in academic fine art training and a genuine passion for teaching. You will be responsible for delivering weekly art courses to students of varying ages and skill levels.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong academic background in fine arts

  • Confident teaching drawing and painting

  • Excellent knowledge of oil painting, acrylic, watercolour, and charcoal

  • Solid understanding of human anatomy for life drawing

  • Ability to adapt teaching to different student levels and learning styles

  • Previous teaching experience preferred

  • Patience, professionalism, and enthusiasm when working with:

    • Children & teens

    • Adult students

    • Mixed cultural and technical backgrounds


Working Hours

  • 2–3 days per week

  • On-site teaching, usually 4 hours per day

  • Weekday classes:

    • 4:00–6:00 pm

    • 6:30–8:30 pm

  • Weekend option (e.g. Sunday):

    • 10:00–12:00

    • 13:00–15:00

    • 15:30–17:30

  - Maximum 10 students per class
  - Flexible scheduling to allow you to pursue other professional commitments

You will begin with a 2-month probation period. After this, you may:

  • Continue with the same freelance teaching hours, or

  • Expand into one-to-one private tuition for additional income

Freelance Fashion Design Tutor – Portfolio Preparation

Part-Time | One-to-One Tuition | £20 per Hour

Sunny Art Centre is currently seeking a Freelance Fashion Design Tutor to join our Portfolio Preparation Department with immediate availability. This role focuses on one-to-one tuition, supporting students in building strong portfolios for university applications and professional development.

During periods of restriction or as required, teaching may take place live online. Our portfolio courses provide students with specialist guidance, industry insight, and structured project development.


The Role

  • Deliver one-to-one fashion design portfolio tuition

  • Provide professional guidance for:

    • University applications

    • Foundation & BA Fashion courses

    • Professional portfolio development

  • Plan and structure individualised lesson programmes

  • Help students develop:

    • Concept development

    • Design research

    • Technical garment understanding

    • Final presentation quality

  • Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge

  • Occasionally participate in and support:

    • Workshops

    • External creative activities

    • Portfolio events


Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design (or closely related discipline)

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Fashion design history

    • Garment construction & structure

    • Materials and fabric technologies

  • A high-level personal portfolio and professional body of work

  • Ability to prepare structured lessons for portfolio-building students

  • Commitment to maintaining current industry knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills

  • 3–4 years’ professional industry experience (highly desirable)


Working Hours

  • Flexible working schedule

  • Teaching may take place:

    • During the day

    • Early evenings

    • Weekends

  • Typical weekly hours:

    • 4–6 hours during normal periods

    • 8–10 hours during peak application seasons

This flexibility allows tutors to pursue other professional commitments alongside teaching.
