May half-term workshops

As the holiday approaches, places on the Kids & Teens Half Term Art Course (25–28 May, ages 7–17) are filling quickly and early booking is strongly recommended. Mornings are devoted to drawing, afternoons to painting — all materials included, a Certificate of Completion for every student, and portfolio guidance available for those preparing for GCSE, A-Level and scholarships.
02 — In the life room
A new cycle, a new model

Our current life-drawing cycle, working from a female model, continues through April. From Tuesday 28 April we begin a new eight-week cycle with a male model — a chance to engage with different anatomical structures and deepen understanding of proportion, form and figure construction.
We are pleased to introduce our new life model, Luigi Caputo. Luigi brings a dynamic and expressive approach to modelling, moving naturally between structured and spontaneous poses supported by the thoughtful use of props — rich opportunities to study gesture, form and character.

03 — Teaching
John Bartlett takes the Tuesday classes

We are pleased to announce that John Bartlett leads our Tuesday drawing and painting classes from early April. A Royal Academy Schools graduate whose work is held in the Museum of London, Guildhall Art Gallery and the Royal Academy of Arts, John is best known for History Painting (1993–94), part of the Museum of London’s permanent collection.
His practice is rooted in strong observational drawing and ambitious figurative composition, and he brings a rigorous, drawing-led approach that supports students in developing both technical skill and individual direction.
04 — Student spotlight
Jeremy Scott

This month we feature an atmospheric acrylic landscape by our student Jeremy Scott. Through careful layering, Jeremy builds subtle tonal transitions in the sky and distant forms, creating a strong sense of space and changing weather. Particular attention is given to the contrast between the soft diffusion of the clouds and the more defined structure of the foreground water, where controlled brushwork suggests movement and surface texture.
A thoughtful approach to observation, and a growing confidence in handling colour and tone to convey mood and environment.
05 — Community
The Gin Chronicles at Sea

We are delighted to support The Gin Chronicles at Sea charity gala at the Waldorf Hilton on 20 June, raising funds for Suited & Booted — a charity helping vulnerable and unemployed men regain confidence and access employment through professional clothing, mentoring and interview support. Having collaborated with Suited & Booted before, we have seen the impact of their work first-hand.
With warm wishes from Covent Garden,
