Ana Piazza was born in Pará state, in the northern region of Brazil, close to the Amazon basin. She spent her childhood and youth between Salvador and Rio de Janeiro and nowadays lives in São Paulo with her husband and two sons. She has had a passion for gemstones since she was a child, encouraged by her father, a geologist.
When she decided to start her career as a jewellery designer, after working in the financial markets, she took specialised courses in jewellery design, goldsmithing study and gemology.
Ana graduated from the Gemological Institute of America (G.G, GIA) and spent the first 7 years of her new career as a gemologist, issuing identification reports for other jewellers and designers. Ana also worked at Amsterdam Sauer, a leading Brazilian jewellery brand, in their gemstone department and now she teaches gemology courses at the Instituto Brasileiro de Gemas e Metais (IBGM) in São Paulo, Brazil.
Her jewellery is designed for the modern woman who has an appreciation and love for gemstones, it can be used for any occasion and is timeless. Ana has thorough quality control procedures throughout the creation and production processes. Some of the gemstones are chosen primarily based on the designed pieces and some speak to her, giving the hint on the piece that should be designed for them.
Ana guarantees total disclosure on all the gemstone characteristics and any eventual treatment that might be found in them.
