What We Can Do

We provide art students with sustained, structured art tuition which we tailor to the needs of each student.

We teach children  and teenagers how to handle different media with structured approaches that explore the technical aspects of drawing skills first, followed by painting media such as acrylic, watercolours and oil paintings.

Art students will explore the technical and theoretical aspects of different subject matter such as still life, landscape and portraiture. This allows students to refine their observational skills.

Our expert art tutors will provide art students with a variety of theoretical and academic skills from art historical knowledge to academic practical skills.

We encourage art students to adopt new perspectives and see the world with a critical eye.

We also organise educational art workshops at leading art museums and public galleries in London. This will help your child  or teenager develop historical knowledge about art, as well as refine their aesthetic appreciation.

Classes stimulate art students with new subjects and contemporary approaches to get them to strive to think creatively, be original, discover, and innovate.

Our Kids and Teens Art Courses also provide art students with professional support to build a body of work that can enhance their portfolios for applications in Higher Education studies.

We arrange en plein air landscape art workshops in open-air locations such as Kew Gardens, Regent's Park, Hampstead Heath, and many more to provide stimulating environments where to train our art students.

Small Groups with Bespoke Study Plan

Bespoke Study Plan to Ensure Our Art Course in London Is the Most Suitable for the Student

During the first art lesson, the student will have an introductory session with a dedicated art tutor to help the student understand what he/she needs and what skill level they are working with. This art lesson allows the tutor to create a personalised Study Plan and art course structure that will be most suitable for the student. This Study Plan will provide the overall structure of what the student should follow and achieve during the course to maximise their results.

Small Groups with Bespoke Art Tuition

We always limit each of our art classes to less than 10 art students, allowing our teachers to work closely with every student and provide individual guidance. According to each student’s study plan, during each lesson, the teacher will arrange the most suitable subject and will teach each student the appropriate techniques. If you are a parent or guardian, while you are waiting for your kid to finish the lesson, you can also sign up for one of our short courses and join our adults' lessons on the upper floor. On Sunday, parking is allowed on the front of the building (After 1 pm on Saturday).

Our Tutors Will Update the Student’s Progress on Their Account After Each Lesson

After each art lesson, our tutor will leave internal feedback for other tutors to see. This information briefs art tutors from different time slots on the student’s progress, including what was done in the previous art lessons and what should be done in the upcoming ones. Therefore, even if the student leaves for a holiday break, when he/she returns, all their progress history will be saved for our tutors to use to resume the art lessons smoothly.

ART MATERIALS PACKS

Using the right art materials plays an essential role in the art course.  You can prepare your art materials by yourself from this list, to avoid the trouble of mistakenly purchasing the wrong art materials. Our art tutors have designed a variety of drawing and painting art materials packages specifically for our art courses with promising quality. They contain all the necessary art tools that you will need to use during the art lessons. You can pre-order online in the checkout page, or via this link: Art Material Packages.

Advantages

You can purchase packages that can help your kid develop drawing or painting practices, or both at the same time. Get access to special outdoor and museum sessions.

Enjoy our flexible booking system. You can choose the dates and time of the lesson the student can attend by using your ‘My Account’ portal. We have art classes available every day (weekends included) both at the centre or through our live online group art tuition platform.

You can wait for your child to complete their class from the comfort of our lounge at The Sunny Art Centre (with complimentary Wi-Fi and tea) while the lesson is taking place.

Only 10 students are allowed per art lesson so that our teacher can provide individual and targeted advice.

While you are waiting for your kid to finish the lesson, you also have the option to sign up for one of our short courses and join our adults' lessons on the upper floor. On Sunday, parking is allowed on the front of the building (After 1 pm on Saturday).

We provide certificates of completion for students that complete our 40 and 60 lessons courses. We also shortlist a selection of our best students for our yearly student show.

Flexible Timetable & Online Booking System

Flexible Credit System to Save You Money

One lesson will be taken from your package only when you book a class. Therefore, you don’t have to book and use all the lessons immediately, but you can book them as you progress with the art course. The system is just like an Oyster card, that you can use as you go.

Manage Your Bookings from Your Online Account

Every student has a personal online account. Once you sign up for a course, your course lessons will be added to your online account. You can log in or sign up for a student account after clicking Book Now under your preferred course. The online account allows you to:

1. Check the course timetable and book the time slots of lessons you want to attend.
2. Book the classes with your preferred tutors.
3. Manage your existing bookings and check your booking history.
4. Receive confirmation emails and text messages with reminders about your bookings.

You can easily cancel, reschedule and book your art lessons all from your online account. Please note that we have a 48H cancellation and reschedule policy. We recommend booking your art class at least 2 days in advance or earlier to guarantee enough availability of seats and to give you enough time if you need to reschedule/cancel the session.

How to Top Up Your Art Course Credits

You can visit your online account and click ‘reorder’ for the same package or choose another course from our website. Whatever you choose, your credit will automatically sync into your online account, which allows you to book your art lessons to continue your study plan with us.

Flexible Timetable to Let You Choose the Days You Want to Attend

When you purchase a course package (e.g. a 60 art lessons course), it will be transferred to your online account. You will be able to log-in and use your course package to book any available art class at the centre or through our live online group art tuition platform (see timetable section below). We have art classes every day, and you can book them at any time. Because you can book the time slots that are most suitable for you, you can also choose the starting date of your course as well.

Looking For An Art Short Course?

We also offer short courses for kids and teenagers which provide more intensive tuition as they are meant to develop the skills of the student in a shorter period of time, if compared with our regular kids courses.

All our short courses are suitable for beginners. They are also suitable if you are looking for a short summer or winter art course.

Safety and Protection

The safety and security of your kids is our utmost priority. We always ensure that protective measures are in place so that you can rest easy, knowing that your child is in a safe place.

  • Our tutors are all DBS checked, and two staff members are always present and available in case extra support is needed while a tutor is teaching a class.
  • Our CCTV cameras cover every corner of the studio, providing you with extra eyes that will look after your kid's safety.
  • Our centre is located in a safe area on Gray' Inn Road next to Chancery Lane underground station and right in the heart of London.

Please note that for kids under 16 years old, you will need to create an account and book the lessons on their behalf as per GDPR laws.

Why Study Art From an Early Age?

Art is a powerful tool that helps kids and teenagers to process their experiences and deal with their emotions. Art classes also provide beneficial sensory input that can galvanise their imagination and creativity.

Drawing and painting lessons are a way for children and teens to engage their curiosity and develop a process of imaginative thinking. These two qualities, linked with art training, have been proven to be correlated to future long-term professional success, as kids and teens grow to become adults. Studying the fine arts will encourage them to think outside of the box and hone their problem-solving skills by encouraging them to find new and creative ways to solve issues at hand.

According to the International Child Art Foundation:

“A child who is exposed to the arts acquires a special ability to think creatively, be original, discover, innovate, and create intellectual property - key attributes for individual success and social prosperity in the twenty-first century.”
