Learn how to draw animal – One day workshop at Mudchute Farm (10:00 am – 4:30pm Saturday 23rd August 2014)
Subject
This workshop will take place at Mudchute Farm, the farm is one of the largest inner City Farms anywhere in Europe. They have wonderful collection of British rare breeds and currently have over 100 animals and fowl on the farm! That's one pretty big family to look after... Throughout Mudchute Farm's landscape and buildings you will be able to view our British rare breed animals, horses and ponies everywhere. The larger animals graze in the outer enclosures and fields, while the smaller and perhaps more cuddly, are kept just next to the main courtyard in 'Pets Corner'. It is a special opportunity for you to create art in the nature and to appreciate art in your daily life.
This workshop teaches you the essentials of drawing animals. There's over 5 hours of high definition, high quality content covering drawing skills, animal anatomy, and rendering.
In Part 1 you'll learn valuable exercises to:
- Develop your observation skills and
- Improve your ability to draw 3D objects.
These skills will set you in good stead for mastering the rest of the course.
In Part 2 we go through general animal anatomy. You will learn about the anatomical features common to most animals, making it easier for you to learn how to draw any animal. the teacher will discuss the different parts of an animal's body, it's skeleton and muscles, and how size affects animal anatomy.
Then there is the main body of the course. Here you will learn how draw individual species. In easy, step-by-step tutorials you will be guided through steps to drawing animals' heads and bodies from a variety of views. These tutorials are where you will apply the knowledge you have learned in parts 1 & 2.
Species you will learn to draw include horses, pigs, goats, sheep.
The workshop is open to all skill levels and styles. The main focus is on pencil and charcoal, however all media are welcome.
