Life Drawing Classes London | Small Group Figure Drawing in Covent

Our Life Drawing and Painting class at Sunny Art Centre is a fully tutored, small-group course following a unique 4-week figure study programme, designed for students who want serious improvement in drawing and painting from life.

Each 4-week block works with the same professional life model and the same long pose, allowing students to study proportion, anatomy, light, and form in depth — an approach commonly used in classical art academies and atelier training, but rarely found in public life drawing classes in London.

With professional training across a range of disciplines and media, our tutors bring both classical techniques and contemporary approaches into the studio. Each session includes:

• Warm-up studies: two 15-minute poses focusing on gesture, balance, and proportion
• Long pose study: 90 minutes, continuing the same pose throughout the 8-week cycle, suitable for extended drawings or full figure paintings

Students may work in:

• Charcoal and pencil for drawing
• Oil, Acrylic or watercolour for painting

All classes are fully tutored with personalised instruction. The tutor provides demonstrations, corrections, and technical advice tailored to each student’s level. Students can join at any point in the programme, including mid-cycle, and will still receive full individual guidance.

Flexible Attendance

Classes run every Tuesday, 6:30–8:30pm. Book a package of 8, 16 or 24 classes, or drop in for a single session. Miss a week? Simply carry on the following Tuesday — every package includes an extra 8 weeks beyond its class schedule, so you have plenty of time to complete all your classes.

With a maximum of 10 students per class, this course offers a focused, supportive environment for serious figure study in central London.

This masterclass is a certified course. Upon completing the 24-sessions programme, participants will receive an official Certificate of Completion from Sunny Art Centre.

The certificate recognises your achievement in mastering traditional Old Master painting techniques and serves as a valuable addition to your art portfolio or professional development.
