Stone Head of Buddha | Liao Dynasty I China I 遼代菩薩石雕头像

遼代菩薩石雕头像

The broad, serene face with half-closed eyes framed by ears with stretched lobes and surmounted by a rich crown presents the characteristics of works of the end of the Yuan dynasty. The accidents which occurred at the level of the central floret of the diadem made disappear the iconographic elements which could have allowed the identification of this divinity.
