Every week our easels fill with work that started as a blank canvas and a careful drawing. This selection of student paintings from our Covent Garden studio shows the range we love to see — patient still-life studies, loose landscape colour, and portraits built up layer by layer under a tutor’s eye.

Most of these painters began as complete beginners. With classes capped at ten students, each canvas gets individual attention: composition checked at the drawing stage, colours mixed and tested together, and glazes discussed one to one.
