We recommend arriving about 5–10 minutes before your booked lesson. This gives you time to check in, organise your materials and prepare your working area without disturbing the class.

Can I visit Sunny Art Centre before buying a course?
Yes. Prospective students can visit by booking a free studio consultation. During the visit you can see the teaching space, view examples of student work and discuss which course may suit you best.
The studio is not generally available for unarranged tours, so please book a consultation before travelling.
Do you offer a free art-course consultation?
Yes. We offer a complimentary 15–20 minute consultation for prospective students. During your consultation you can:

Can I come to the studio without an appointment?
You should not travel to the studio for a consultation, tour or class without a confirmed appointment or booking. Classes and studio activities are scheduled in advance, and staff may not be available for an unplanned visit.

What are Sunny Art Centre opening hours?

These are public and administrative hours rather than the complete teaching timetable. Scheduled classes, private lessons and children’s programmes may take place outside these hours, so attend only when you have a confirmed booking.

No. Office and public visiting hours are different from scheduled class times. Some adult classes take place on weekday evenings, while children’s courses and other programmes may take place on Sundays.

Yes. Our timetable includes weekday evening drawing and painting classes, which suit students attending after work, university or other daytime commitments. Exact availability depends on the medium, tutor and current timetable.

Do you offer weekend art classes in Central London?
Yes. Weekend classes are available for adults, children and teenagers depending on the programme. Our regular adult timetable includes Saturday sessions, while regular children’s and teenagers’ classes normally take place on Sundays.

How long is a typical group art class?
Most regular group drawing and painting lessons last two hours. A two-hour lesson provides time for tutor demonstrations, independent practice, questions, technical corrections, individual feedback and continued development of an artwork.
Private lessons, portfolio programmes and specialist workshops may use a different session length.

Can I start an art course at any time?
Yes. Most regular drawing and painting courses use rolling enrolment, so you do not need to wait for the start of a school term. After purchasing a course package, you can book an available lesson through your online student account.

Is Sunny Art Centre suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. Complete beginners are welcome. You do not need previous experience, a portfolio or natural artistic talent to begin — your tutor will assess your level and help you start with a suitable exercise or project.

Are the classes suitable for experienced artists?
Yes. Intermediate, advanced and practising artists are also welcome. Experienced students may focus on refining a technique, developing a substantial project, learning a new medium, improving colour or composition, receiving professional feedback, or preparing portfolio or exhibition work.
Are the classes mixed ability?
Yes. Complete beginners and experienced students may attend the same regular group session while following different study plans. A beginner may be learning proportion, shading or colour mixing while another student develops a more advanced artwork.

How many students are in each group class?
Regular group classes have a maximum of 10 students. The small-group format provides the atmosphere of a shared studio while allowing the tutor to give individual attention.

Who teaches the classes?
Classes are taught by professional artists and experienced art tutors. Tutor allocation depends on the medium, class time and programme, so students using flexible group-course packages may study with different tutors according to the session they book.

Studio Facilities and Materials
What facilities and equipment does the studio provide?
Sunny Art Centre provides the basic furniture and equipment needed for studio teaching, including easels, tables and chairs. Students normally bring or purchase their own consumable materials — paints, paper, canvas and brushes — unless the course package states that materials are included.
Do I need to bring my own art materials?
Materials are not generally included in regular group-course fees unless the course package specifically states otherwise. Students may need to bring drawing pencils or charcoal, erasers, drawing paper, paints, brushes, a palette and a suitable canvas, board or watercolour paper.

Can I buy art materials at the studio?
Yes. Selected drawing and painting materials are available to purchase from our studio shop, subject to stock. You can also browse our drawing materials and painting materials online.
We recommend checking the course materials list before your first lesson rather than relying on every specialist product being available immediately before class.
Is the studio suitable for people with access requirements?
Students with mobility, sensory or other access requirements should contact us before booking or visiting. Providing this information in advance allows the team to explain the studio layout and discuss any reasonable arrangements that may be available.

Do you teach children and teenagers at the studio?
Yes. We offer regular drawing and painting programmes for children and teenagers aged 7–17, along with selected summer and half-term art courses, portfolio support and private tuition.

Can a child attend an adult art class?
Children and younger teenagers should normally join the dedicated kids and teens programme. Students aged 17 may be suitable for selected adult courses, depending on their maturity, goals and the programme.

Can I book private one-to-one art lessons at the studio?
Yes. Sunny Art Centre offers private drawing and painting tuition for complete beginners, experienced artists, children, teenagers and portfolio applicants. Private tuition suits students who want fully individual guidance, have a particular project or deadline, cannot attend the regular timetable, or want an intensive programme.

Do you offer art portfolio preparation at the studio?
Yes. We offer personalised art and design portfolio preparation for school, scholarship, Foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate applications. Programmes may include technical development, new projects, sketchbook work, portfolio selection, digital presentation and interview preparation.

Booking, Cancellations and Contact
How do I book an art class?
For regular group courses:
- Choose and purchase the appropriate course package
- Log in to your online student account
- View the available timetable
- Select and confirm the class you want to attend
- Use one lesson credit for each booked two-hour session
A confirmed booking is required for every class — walk-in attendance is not accepted, as class sizes are limited and tutors need an accurate register.
What is the cancellation policy?
At least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a regular group lesson and have the lesson credit returned. Late cancellations and missed classes normally result in the credit being deducted.

Do course credits expire?
Yes. Every course package has a stated validity period, and all lessons must be booked and attended before the package expires. Check the validity period before purchasing and choose a package you can realistically complete.
